Please include your Salesforce edition, the package version (Setup → Installed Packages), what you did, what you expected and what happened. A screenshot of the preview or the Activity log row helps. Do not send personal data of your customers.

Getting started

  1. Install the package in a sandbox first.
  2. Assign the permission set Campaign Status Templates Admin to the admins who manage templates, and Campaign Status Templates User to marketing users who apply templates to campaigns. Users need the Marketing User checkbox and edit access to the campaigns.
  3. Open the Campaign Status Templates app and its console tab.
  4. On Templates, click New template. Add the status values, mark one as the default and at least one as responded, choose the Campaign Types it applies to (or make it the org default), and add mappings from old statuses (for example "Sent" → "Invited").
  5. Create a campaign of that type: it gets the template statuses automatically.
  6. On Apply to campaigns, select a template and existing campaigns, click Preview changes, resolve the conflicts, and click Apply template.
  7. Read every change on Activity log.

Frequently asked questions

Does the App delete campaign members? No. Members only move from an old status to a new status. A status with members is removed only after all of its members moved.

What happens to a status that is not in the template? If it has no members, it is removed. If it has members and a mapping, the members move and the status is removed. If it has members and no mapping, the template setting decides: keep the status, move its members to the default status, or skip the campaign. The preview shows each case as a conflict.

Can I turn off the automation during a data load? Yes: Settings → Pause automation, or set Disable Automation in the custom setting Campaign Status Settings for one user or profile.

Can a Flow use a template? Yes: the Flow action Apply Campaign Status Template takes a Campaign ID and an optional template API name.

How many campaigns can I update at once? Up to 20 campaigns are updated at once; larger selections (up to 2,000) run as a background batch job. One campaign can move up to 9,000 members in one run.

Why does saving a template take a few seconds? Templates are custom metadata records. Salesforce deploys them in the background; the console shows the result when the deployment ends.

Which editions are supported? Salesforce editions with Campaigns and Apex: Enterprise, Unlimited, Performance and Developer Edition (Professional Edition only with API and Apex access).
